Using contemporary materials such as electric circuits and micro-computers, Tatsuo Miyajima (b.1957) creates his work based on humanist ideas and Buddhist teachings; ‘Keep Changing,’ ‘Connect with All,’ and ‘Goes on Forever’, leading the viewer to discover the past in the present.
His latest work, C.F.Loop - no.7 (2020), is formally akin to a distorted DNA’s double helix spiral, and mimics the infinite variety found in human bodies through its interconnected cells, vein-like cables, and fluctuating counting speeds, scrolling through possible combinations of life and death.
