Looking Down on Munich

A series by  photographer Robert Götzfried for Canon Europe “Come and See” Campaign. In his own words:

So when I thought about the visual concept of my “Look Down on Cities’ series, I naturally chose the city, the most important to me:. Munich. Munich is the third largest city in Germany and for a variety of reasons known: Among football, Oktoberfest and white sausages. It is also the city that I like to call my home - I always wanted to capture “my city” in my own way.

My work is very graphically oriented generally - straight lines, patterns. I like to photograph scenes and objects with clear order - I think this is an additional side effect of a graphic designer over a photographer. I always think in grids, shapes, lines, patterns and colors - I create images, it does not refer simply to. Bird’s eye view has always seemed to me, in my view the photographer strategically important because it “the big picture” conveyed from a special heading out to me.
