Put my hands on this 1981′s copy of FILE by General Ideas artists group. Robert Fripp, godfather of prog rock and avant–garde genius in terms of time signatures and compositions, gets the issue started with a pseudo manifesto about “structures”. Something transcendental. Note how readable is his tendency to define structure and how, with wise contradictions (6.) that suggest methods discussion and need to experiment. An idea of analytical approach that consider the weight of qualitative actions (19.) as a part of the structured process.

The magazine goes on with a juxtaposition of crispy illustrated spreads, interviews and photo/typo graphic compositions.
