Anatomical Paintings by Nunzio Paci
Italian artist Nunzio Paci explores the union between humanity and nature. By inserting illustrations of natural elements, such as twigs and birds and surgical tools, he creates a cohesive, surreal piece which serves as a sketchbook with pencil and oil. By meticulously adding glimpses of the muscular and skeletal structures of the human body, Paci’s purpose is to create a balance between life’s most innermost primal nature and balance. The artist also uses the heart as his most common subject to showcase the wildness and ardent quality of the human heart by placing roots to demonstrate the largest source of life in the human anatomy. Paci explains:
“My whole work deals with the relationship between man and nature, in particular with animals and plants. The focus of my observation is body with its mutations. My intention is to explore the infinite possibilities of life, in search of a balance between reality and imagination.”
