For her “Generative Portraits” series, Diana Lange explored the creative possibilities of 3D modeling software. Rendered with white on black backgrounds, human faces emerge from myriads of correlated points. The three-dimensional-looking figures appear incomplete, like fragments of marble statues. The thin, spider web-like lines map out their features with great detail, but the people in her portraits don’t look quite human.
