These awesome giant, textured mushrooms are the work of Belgian-born, Stockholm-based artist Carsten Höller. Spending time in their presence feels like an opportunity to dip your own toes into Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The upside-down mushrooms are from Höller’s recent installation for the Gagosian Gallery at Frieze New York. The even more surreal triple mushroom sculptures were shown at the New Museum in SoHo back in 2012.
The only thing missing is a certain hookah-smoking caterpillar.
